About this site

Katzenwaffe is the electro/pop-loving alter ego of Martin Carlson, music producer and songwriter from Sweden. Former guitarist in the hardrock band Hell n' Diesel.

Decided to stake everything on electronic music and songwriting in 2009.

Katzenwaffe's wide range of musical input makes it pretty hard to put a label on his music, even though a certain rock structures like verse/chorus/verse can be spotted in many of his tracks. But is it house? Is it electro? Is it pop? Maybe it's everything, or nothing. No track is similar to another and maybe that's the beauty of it. That is at least why Katzenwaffe was created. Katzenwaffe does not follow any genre to the letter.

Check out Katzenwaffe's latest tweets and enjoy the sweet music he makes. If you have something to say – drop a message and make your statement. If you wanna send some music, why not put it in the Soundcloud dropbox?

    Winning “Iprenjakten”

I am a winner. If you ain’t first - you’re last. Check it out!

    Jury motivation:

Slave to the arpeggio – Reason project file!

My latest song Slave to the arpeggio got loads of plays and downloads as soon as I posted the song on Soundcloud together with a nice article on Tracasseur.com. I know many people are curious about production techniques and stuff, and since I’m not into making tutorials, I decided to release the Reason project file for the song. So all of you who are interested can dissect the song and check out how it’s made. You’ll need Propellerhead Reason 6 (6.0.2 to be precise) to open the file. And that’s it.

If you wanna make a remix, go ahead! If you wanna add some beautiful vocals – do it! Just make sure you mention me and the original when posting the song. And it would be awesome if you notified me when posting, so I can enjoy your sweet versions!

    Here’s the download link!

A few weeks ago I heard this massive tune on Swedish radio. A song called “SLOW”. It had a vibe to it that captured my interest instantly and soon I found out that theese dudes are calling themselves MRTN.

I dropped a message in MRTN’s Soundcloud messagebox that I would love to get hold of the stems for the song and make a remix. To make sure they were going to be interested I wrote I was going to make a Scatman/Scooter mashup thing with their song. BAM! Stems back in five minutes. I didn’t make any Scatman/Scooter remix. This is the result.
